Job Description
  • Position: 911 Addressing / Administrative Coordinator
  • Reports To: Disctrict Director
  • Hours: F/T 40 hours per week
  • Pay Scale: Starting Salary Range $30,000 - $35,000 annually plus benefits
  • Position Purpose:  Coordinate all new addressing within district boundaries as per agency agreements.  Develops address as needed, correctly identifies potential addressing conflicts and maintains both GIS and other addressing databases. Administrative Coordinator responsible for assisting with all aspects of the day to day operations of the district.
Education and Experience:
  • Must possess a high school diploma or GED, and at least two (2) years of experience working with computer hardware and software. 
  • Associates or higher education preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Essential Job Functions :
  • Assist with the management of 911 databases in regards to land management and addressing.
  • Addressing of plats and other requested addresses.
  • Coordinate with County-wide agencies, including Planning and Zoning, SCAD, Smith County, and US Postal Service on readdressing issues and problems.
  • Composes, drafts, and accurately generates documents such as letters, memorandums, resolutions, and reports.
  • Create map output utilizing ArcGIS software from datasets contained in the GIS database.
  • Scan plats and other documents and implement document imaging into GIS.
  • Perform other GIS related assignments as assigned
  • Responds to and appropriately refers incoming telephone calls, request, and complaints in order to ensure timely resolution of issues in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Answers SC 911 main telephone line
  • Manage deliveries coming in to SC 911, including UPS, FedEx, etc.
  • Monitor and order supplies as needed.
  • Listen and respond to complicated and sensitive citizen inquiries.
  • Assist with finance and accounting including but no limited to payroll, accounts payable/receivable and monthly reports.
  • Assist with ILEC and CLEC contract management.
  • Performs other administrative duties as assigned
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid Texas Drivers License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Must be familiar with office software, with an emphasis on the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access and Outlook. Must show ability to ability to learn other software packages. Must have accurate, efficient keyboarding skills.  Must have experience using various office machines, including multiple line telephone, fax machine, copier/scanner, and personal computer.
  • Interpersonal Confidence – Must possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to effectively communicate, both orally and written, and relate to all levels within and outside the organization
  • Adaptability – Responds quickly and effectively to changing circumstances
  • Must have ability to make decisions; compile and compose reports, maintain confidentiality, organize workload, understand/follow instructions.
  • Must possess ability to work independently or as a team. 
  • Must be detail oriented
Work/Physical Factors:
  • Must be able to turn and sit up to 8-hours daily; walk and stand up to 8-hours daily; lift and carry up to 30-pounds. May be required to assist with events that occur outdoors and/or in event centers. May be required to work weekends and evenings.
